Discover the timeless art of pine needle basket making in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop led by local Whitecroft artist Michelle Maule. Over the course of three relaxed and inspiring sessions, you’ll learn how to transform locally gathered pine needles into a beautiful and functional basket—complete with a lid of your own design.

Held at Michelle’s cozy home studio in Whitecroft, each 3-hour session will guide you step-by-step through the process, from selecting and preparing your materials to finishing your unique creation with care and creativity. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to try something new!

About the Instructor:
Michelle Maule has called Whitecroft home since the days of Tod Mountain and is a well-known artist and woodworker in the Sun Peaks community. Her custom furniture pieces, made from reclaimed bridge timbers, can be seen in homes and businesses throughout the area. Michelle’s passion for traditional crafts has led her to explore pine needle basketry through hands-on learning and self-study. She looks forward to sharing this meaningful and meditative practice with others.
