Intuitive Life Drawing with Benny Johnson

Class Description: In this class students will learn to recognize their own choices when drawing from life. The entirety of the class will be spent drawing from a model, with the exception of a single exercise drawing from a still life. Artists will be asked to consider the gap between their drawing, and what they are seeing, and to use this awareness to understand themselves better as artists. Students will receive a supply list, but are encouraged to bring their own materials, charcoal, paints, markers etc.

Instructor: Benny Johnson ('19 Painting) is an artist living and working in Kansas City. She makes comics, illustrations, paintings, and music. Her work revolves around emotions, the body, grief, humor, and making sense of our lives as humans.

Eligibility: Age 18+.

Supplies: The instructor will contact registered students directly regarding materials and supplies.

Parking: Parking is available in any of the (NON-RESERVED) KCAI parking lot spaces across campus. RESERVED spaces are available after 5pm on the weekdays and all day on the weekends. There is also available street parking surrounding KCAI campus. 

Refund: Registered participants can receive refunds to the original payment method (Studio Fee minus Humanitix Fee) up to 14 days before the first class.
