The Intuitive Body: An Introduction to Continuum (In-Person, NYC)
Event description
An in-person, three-hour introductory workshop exploring the core philosophy and practices of Continuum Movement
Continuum Movement (CM) is a somatic practice that combines breath, vocalization (sounding), and intuitive movement to tap into the fluid nature of the body. The demands of modern life can disrupt one's connection to the body’s intelligence—particularly its capacity for fluidity, responsiveness, and radical presence. Continuum offers gentle explorations that restore and nurture this relationship by centering pleasure, curiosity, and internal guidance through intuitive movement.
In this introductory three-hour workshop, we will explore the core practices and philosophy of Continuum through embodied conversation and movement. After grounding in the essential elements of Continuum—breath, sound, sensation, movement, and innovation—the workshop will include time for two movement explorations (or what we call “dives” in Continuum), as well as time for questions, sharing, and connection with other participants.
Continuum may be of particular interest to people who want to move their bodies in community without pressure or expectation about how the movement “looks.” In Continuum, we generally practice with closed eyes/softened gaze, lying on the floor, and emphasize trust, agency, and empowerment in movement. Open to folks of all levels of movement experience!
Please note the workshop occurs twice in Fall 2025 - October 4 & November 22.
