Competitive neutrality public hearing
Event description
Competitive neutrality public hearing
IPART is evaluating the scope and effectiveness of competitive neutrality policies and processes in NSW. Competitive neutrality aims to ensure that government businesses do not have a competitive advantage over other businesses because of their government ownership. IPART plans to hold an online public hearing for its review into competitive neutrality on 13 February 2022 from 10 am to 1pm. We want to hear your views on our draft recommendations to improve the competitive neutrality policy in NSW. We will shortly release the agenda and some information papers that provide a summary of the review, and our draft recommendations, to help with preparing for the public hearing. Who should attend? This is an opportunity for all affected stakeholders to provide their views on our proposed recommendations. While anyone may attend, this public hearing will be aimed generally at stakeholders working in state and local government businesses and private and not-for-profit businesses that compete with them. Background informationBackground information can be found in our Draft Report and Issues Paper. We have also prepared seven short information papers to complement our Draft Report on our review of NSW’s competitive neutrality policy. These papers summarise the key topics covered in the Draft Report. The papers can be found here. |
