    Event description

    IPART Conference

We are excited to invite you to our 2022 conference, which will be held on 17 November in Sydney and marks 30 years since IPART was first established.

This is a 5 yearly event and aims to stimulate and push our thinking so we, other regulators from around Australia, consumer advocates and the businesses we regulate are challenged to focus on better meeting consumers needs and preferences for the long term.

The theme for this year’s conference is Rethinking Regulation in a changing world. Internationally renowned futurist, Mr Mark Pesce*, will kick start our thinking on how fast our world is changing – economically, environmentally and digitally. We will explore whether the digital age and disruptors can counter-balance the power of monopoly businesses.

    International speakers

Dimitri Zenghelis, Special Advisor for the Wealth Economy Project at the Bennett Institute and Laura Sandys, Chair of the UK Government’s Energy Digitalisation Taskforce – will provide their insights on whether our current economic paradigms still work and how regulatory practice needs to evolve.

They will be joined by regulatory, economic and industry experts in interactive panel discussions designed to stretch and motivate us to contribute to a better future.

    Conference details

We will host you in Sydney’s CBD at the Hilton Hotel providing the opportunity to connect and network with our speakers as well as the regulatory community from around Australia. An online option is available for those unable to be there in person.

A full program can be accessed here and full conference information can be found on the IPART website.

*Mr Mark Pesce appears by arrangement with Claxton Speakers International
