Event description

Public Hearing for IPART’s review of the essential works list, nexus, efficient design and benchmark costs for local infrastructure

IPART is holding an online public hearing on 10 December 2021 for our review of the essential works list, nexus, efficient design and benchmark costs for local infrastructure.

The NSW Government is proposing a package of reforms to the infrastructure contributions system. IPART has been asked to provide advice to inform two key areas of the Government’s reforms:

  • an essential works list that would apply to all section 7.11 contributions plans and the approach councils should use to determine the most efficient local infrastructure to meet the needs of new development, applying the principle of nexus
  • standardised benchmark costs for local infrastructure that councils may use to prepare local contributions plans that reflect the efficient costs of provision.

The public hearing will provide an overview of IPART’s draft findings and key issues where we are seeking further comment. Most importantly, it will also provide an opportunity for the stakeholders to ask questions and provide feedback on key issues for the review.

This event is open to the public. Once you have completed your Ticket order, you will receive an email with details for the event.

Please email Arsh_Suri@ipart.nsw.gov.au if you have technical difficulties or require further information.
