Event description

Have you been affected by the recent floods in QLD?

Jamie’s Ministry of Food, together with Queensland Government and Health and Wellbeing Queensland are here to help.

We are providing a safe place to come and prepare a hearty home cooked meal for flood-affected members of the Ipswich community and surrounds.

From Friday 8th April to Thursday 14th April, our kitchen will be open every day, several times a day, to welcome those that have been affected by the recent floods. Each person who attends will cook enough food to feed four people (four meals).

All food, equipment, facilities, takeaway containers, and cutlery will be provided.

Thanks to our funding partners, we will also be giving away care packages to those that need assistance in restocking their kitchen.

Where:
Jamie's Ministry of Food Ipswich - D'Arcy Doyle Place, 116 Brisbane St, Ipswich QLD 4305, Australia

When:
Friday 8th April to Thursday 14th April. Each day is a different recipe.
There are multiple classes per day - click 'get tickets' to select your preferred date and time.

Frequency Asked Questions:
How do I book my spot? We have an online booking system but understand that this will not suit everybody. We will do our best to accommodate walk ins but if you could phone ahead or email us that would be great, 0428024719 or info@thegoodfoundation.com.au

What if I can’t attend? If you book a place but can’t attend, then someone can attend on your behalf or please find a community member that you can give you place card to. Alternately, call us on 0428024719 or info@thegoodfoundation.com.au so we can make your ticket available to someone else

What if it is my neighbour that was affected, and I want to help them? You can attend a food relief class on behalf of someone if they are unable to attend themselves.

How can I help if I wasn’t affected by the floods? We are calling all volunteers to come along and assist us in reaching as many community members affected by the recent floods as possible. Please register your interest as a volunteer here https://www.thegoodfoundation.com.au/volunteer/

How many times can I attend? You can attend as many times as you like but please be mindful that we want to help as many people as possible.

  • For insurance purposes participants must be aged 12+ years to attend.
