Ipswich City Council and BOP Industries are proud to present the 'Ipswich Young Leaders Academy' for 2022! The Ipswich Young Leaders Academy is run by young people for young people and will see students exploring how they can build their personal brand, prepare for the future of work and make a difference in their local community as they build the skills and knowledge to become leaders in their community.

Young people today are growing up in a world very different to that experienced by any other generation that has come before. With advancements in technology, our world is more connected now than it ever has been before, and information has never been easier to access.

The Ipswich Young Leaders Academy 2022 has been designed to help high school students in the Ipswich Local Government Area (LGA) develop their skills to make a difference in their community, standout in the workforce, and get a head start on their chosen pathway.

Working with an expert team of facilitators and mentors, the program will see students participating in a range of in-person and virtual masterclasses over term one and two.

  • Communication And Pitching Your Ideas
  • Networking 

The Ipswich Young Leaders Academy will be run across term 1 and 2 with the first session commencing on Tuesday 15th of March. 

From there, sessions will be broken up into both in-person and virtual classes. 

15th of March 2022 | Personal Branding (4:30pm-5:30pm Online)

29th of March 2022 | Creating Your Digital Presence (4:30pm-5:30pm Online)

14th of April 2022 | Community Leadership (9:00am-3:00pm In-Person)

26th of April 2022 | The Future Of Work (4:30pm-5:30pm Online)

19th of May 2022 | Communication & Pitching Your Ideas (4:30pm-5:30pm Online)

21st of June 2022 | Young Professionals Evening (4:30pm-5:30pm Online)

Students are encouraged to attend all sessions, however, attendance isn't mandatory. All virtual sessions will be recorded, and uploaded for ease of access.

Which students can participate
This event is open to all students in Grades 7-12.

Where will it be hosted?  
Online sessions will be held via Zoom with a link being sent out closer to the session. 

In- Person sessions will be held at the Ipswich City Council Building. 
Level 1- Tulmur Place, 1 Nicholas Street, Ipswich 

How much does it all cost?

The program is free for all students who participate. 

When do I need to have my student names confirmed? 
By the 14th of March 2022.

Refund policy

In the event that you are unable to attend your BOP Industries program or event, a credit will be available to be used for any future BOP Industries program or event tickets (within the next 24 month period). This credit/postponement of attendance must be made no later than 7 days prior to the event or program. If a program is cancelled, our first priority is to postpone the program or transition to an online offering. If neither of these options are available, a cancellation may be required, in which case an application for refund is available. All refunds must be approved by BOP Industries prior to being confirmed and will be based on a case-by-case basis. All refunds will not include the booking fee paid upon purchase.
