Event description

Digital transformation is rapidly changing our world.

The benefits of digital transformation to both business and our personal lives are excitingly exponential.  Digitisation and technology advances are producing amazing new opportunities for the modern workforce.  As a result, the job market is rapidly and constantly changing.  Demand for current and future technologies is growing quickly to support ongoing transformation initiatives.

However, digital transformation may also have disruptive effects on our working lives.  With advancing technology, digitisation, automation and robotics, the skills of workers can quickly fall behind the demand for current and future skills, resulting in unexpected redundancy, sudden job loss and displacement.  In fact, the rate of redundancies in a worker’s lifetime has risen from 1 to 4 over the past 20 years, and will continue to increase.

On a personal level, redundancy and sudden job loss can be a very stressful time, especially when comes unexpectedly.  Stress can intensify when your skills and experience have been superseded by technology advances and you’ve fallen behind in professional training and skills advancement.  Trying to secure a new job at the same salary with outdated skills is a difficult task. If you find yourself in this position, improving your future career prospects is both crucial and essential.

On top of all this, the world of job search has changed dramatically in recent times.  Traditional job search techniques are not as successful as they used to be, increasing both the difficulty of successfully securing a suitable role, and the level of frustration and anxiety amongst job seekers.

There is no rule book on future proofing your career, transitioning your career or mastering job search for success. However, our IT Career Transition short course will help you navigate your way to success!
