Italian Pastry Masterclass with Marco
Event description
Join Marco to learn how to make delicious Italian pastries, just how his nonna taught him. You'll get hands on experience making your very own fresh cakes and learn how to adjust your recipe for your taste. If the weather is fine, we'll eat pastry together in the lush Perth City Farm garden afterwards!
Marco comes from Abruzzo, in central Italy. He brings with him the passion and love for his heritage food. He loved watching his nonna cooking and baking for the whole family and sharing the meals together. He is very enthusiastic and he’s looking forward to welcome people and share his skills.
You will learn how to makeÂ
- Italian biscotti and
- Sbriciolata (a versatile filled cake)
We love hands on learning! Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting flour on and closed in shoes as you'll be in the kitchen.
Please bring a jar of your favourite jam, whether homemade or bought. Or indulge and make it a chocolate spread!
Our weekly farmer's market will be in full swing during your workshop, so it's worth arriving a little early to check out the stalls and maybe buy some fresh produce.
Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
