ItWillAllEndInStars* is an exhibition of Australian contemporary jewelry and objects featuring an array of ideas and reflections. The project seeks to use the southern hemisphere as the uniting factor between continents, allowing for a shared focus on universal ideas, concerns, and creativity. ItWillAllEndInStars* includes works reflecting on the natural and urban Australian landscape, the southern stars, space, memories, and a variety of universal cultural and observations in a starburst event that will orbit within NYC Jewellery Week. Serving additionally as a curatorial "memento mori", while honoring the value that art, science, music, and literature add to artistic inspiration and creation. As we all live under a sky full of dead stars, join us in celebrating the Australian creativity that presently shines brightly, whilst admiring the venue that housed the many creative lives and times, past.
ItWillAllEndInStars* also pays homage to the hotel's celebrated past as an experimental and celebrated artistic hub, where the famous/infamous stars and residents lived, worked, and in some cases, sadly ended their lives. This collective of Australian artists has been brought together to (almost literally) shine in the stardust of the Hotel's glorious past.
Please come and pay your respects.
