IWD 2025: Women Resisting Imperialism and Fighting for Liberation
Event description
Join us for a free event commemorating IWD's anti-capitalist roots. We are pleased to welcome Samantha Hislop (Canadian Network on Cuba), Pamela Arancibia (Labour 4 Palestine), Meagan Christou (Communist Party of Canada - Ontario) and Amal Omer (Sudanese Women's Union) as speakers who will address why the liberation of women is innately connected to the current struggle against imperialism.
Our musical guests are the Udichi Choir and Layla Staats.
The event will conclude with collaborative banner-making and refreshments will be served.
Organized in collaboration between CUPE Toronto Council, Sudanese Communist Party (GTA), Communist Party of Canada (Toronto), Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi Canada and the Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network.
