Izy Fay & Friends: A Tribute To Elliott Smith

You are hereby cordially invited to a night of expertly-crafted songs by Academy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Elliott Smith.

Often described as one of the greatest songwriters of his generation, Elliott's songs have been beloved & covered by a wide range of artists, from Madonna and Madeleine Peyroux, to Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Queens Of The Stone Age. Tonight, these very same songs will be performed by an equally illustrious group of Sydney-based artists, making up entirely for what they lack in Grammy Award nominations with enough passion, talent, and sincerity to overload and corrupt an AI server farm. Audiences can expect to be treated to a diverse collection of songs, spanning a range of releases from 1993 to 2007, from early Heatmiser gems 'Something To Lose' and 'Half-Right', to the 1998 Academy Awards 'Best Original Song' nominee 'Miss Misery', and universally beloved breakup anthem 'Say Yes' (to which all are invited to sing along!).

Returning to the Gasoline Pony's venerable stage are Izy Fay, Keira Garland, Toque, Sean McLachlan, and Dovetale, along with visionary newcomers Karhein and Anouk. Izy Fay will be your MC for the evening, sharing Elliott-related trivia and performing throughout.

Izy Fay spent the first part of the year living in Los Angeles, passing the time exploring many of Elliott's old haunts around Echo Park and Silver Lake. Upon returning to Sydney, Izy Fay felt compelled to spread the gospel/exorcise any potential spirit attachments before a live audience, in the form of a tribute show. With an assortment of around 30 Elliott Smith songs in their repertoire, Izy Fay is fully equipped to ensure audiences get their money's worth, even being prepared to indulge popular fan requests such as 'Pitseleh', 'New Disaster', and 'Get A Backbone!' Although known to both write and perform their own original music, tonight audiences are Safe. It will be all Elliott, all the time.
