That evolution reaches a new peak with his forthcoming album, Move The Mountains, a record Jack believes is the strongest work of his career.More than an album title, Move The Mountains represents a philosophy that has guided his life: work hard, stay resilient, do whatever it takes to grow, achieve something meaningful, and always show up for the people you love.“Spending time in the Snowy Mountains is where I go to reset,” Jack says. “It’s where I spend time with family and friends, go fishing, and continue a way of life that’s been passed down through generations. That’s where this record comes from.”The title track reflects that mindset in its most personal form, inspired by Jack’s determination to support his father through illness in whatever way he could. Throughout the album, the mountains become both a literal place and a symbol of perseverance, grounding the record in themes that have long defined his songwriting.Now in his thirties, Jack describes Move The Mountains as a snapshot of the victories and struggles many people experience during this stage of life. Across the record, he explores love, heartbreak, betrayal, disappointment, helplessness, gratitude, introspection, and the independent spirit that has always fueled his journey. Every song tells honest stories that made him feel something first, in the hope they would do the same for others.

“I’ve learned something from every one of my previous records,” Jack says. “The years of touring, writing, studying music, and learning the industry have brought me to a place where I feel I’m operating at my peak as an artist.”While his previous releases explored a wide range of sounds and genres, Jack believes Move The Mountains finally captures the complete picture of who he is as an artist.“It’s the perfect balance of blues, rock, and country,” he explains. “I’ve always been proud of experimenting with different styles, but this is the first record where everything naturally belongs together. It feels honest. It feels like me.”

The album began simply, with Jack alone and an acoustic guitar. Every song was written in its purest form before being brought into the studio, where his longtime band helped transform the material into the expansive sound he had imagined. Drummer Jono Warren, guitarist Pat Quinn Quirke, and bassist Alec Coulson became true creative partners, each contributing arrangements, musical ideas, and songwriting credits that elevated the record to new heights.Behind Move The Mountains is another relationship that has become central to Jack’s career—his longtime creative partnership with producer Matt Barnes. More than a decade ago, the two met as Matt was opening his first recording studio. What began as a chance meeting quickly developed into a friendship built on mutual respect, shared ambition and an unwavering commitment to helping each other grow. Since then, Barnes has produced nearly every Jack Biilmann recording, capturing the evolution of an artist whose care
er has unfolded alongside his own.

June 16th 2023, Divided Mind was released, his fifth and most unique album to date which features a Side A & B concept. Tragically two weeks out from the release Jack’s manager Andrew Penhallow passed away after a short battle with cancer making the album’s release & pending success bittersweet. Side A, live and acoustic in the round plain church, Snowy Mountains (formerly owned by his Grandfather) captured 100% live, via generator power & with dear friend Sara Flint on backing vocals. Side B, gritty, 90’s inspired blues/rock with new band Jack Biilmann & The Black Tide with Pat Quinn Quirke (Guitar), Jono Warren (Drums) & Joel Cabban (Bass). The record truly showcasing Biilmann’s multidimensional skill set, tenacity and showcased a raw piece of family history & the making of side A in the short film “Drink The Water Where You Come From”. Divided Mind debuted at #3 Debut on the ARIA Blues Charts, #3 Debut on the Australian Independent Labels Album Chart, Nomination for ACT music artist of the year, National Live Music award nomination for Blues & Roots Artist of the year and airplay on Foxtel, ABC, Double J, the record signed to Cooking Vinyl Music Publishing and finished the year touring in support of Australian national treasure Dan Sultan.

April 23rd of 2021 saw the release of Jack’s most complete long play to date, Full Circle. With the huge inclusion of Mike Barker (John Butler Trio, Split Enz, The Black Sorrows) on drums/percussion Full Circle record debuted at #6 on the Aria Blues/Jazz Charts, #8 on Itunes & #3 on the Australian Independent Record Association charts. Full Circle was also signed to Cooking Vinyl Music Publishing Australia & management with Resolution music. With outstanding chart results and reviews in Australia, American & UK, Biilmann set off on a 25 date national tour, most of which sold out before doors even opening. Unfortunately, the tour’s QLD, Northern NSW & Snowy Mountain legs were all cancelled due to the onset of Covid-19.

May 2018 saw the single release of “The Hills Have Eyes” THHE was radio premiered by Triple J, video premiered by themusic.com, debuted at #1 on the Australian ITunes charts and was accompanied by a 26 date national tour with sold out shows scattered around the country.

After spending the majority of 2016 locked away in the studio with highly sought after producer Matt Barnes & world renowned mastering engineer Tony “Jack The Bear” Mantz (Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio , Silverchair) Biilmann’s second solo STREAMS album was released on February 2017 with a great deal of hype attached with it. Streams charted at #3 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and #14 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association album charts plus glowing reviews around the country.

In January 2016 Biilmann released a touching tribute track “Forever Unbeaten*” dedicated to fallen cricketer Phillip Hughes which was internationally acclaimed and covered by media outlets such as The Daily Telegraph, Fox Sports News & The Herald Sun and press as far as India, Pakistan & England to name a just a few.
