Jack Bolton returns home before Leipzig

Returning to the school which ignited the fire to his dream of opera, Jack Bolton (Class of 2019) is joined by his trusted colleagues Aidan Hodder and Sophie Hamer alongside their mentor and coach, Sharolyn Kimmorley AM, for an afternoon of opera and song.

As Jack prepares to move to Leipzig, Germany, this concert will be his farewell to Australia as he continues to advance his career in the epicentre of the international operatic industry.

Whether you are an old friend, colleague, or simply a lover of music, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience the power of music and an exciting farewell. Open to the whole community, bring along family and friends.

About Jack

Jack Bolton holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and has been a Melba Opera Trust artist since 2024 as the recipient of the Ryman Healthcare Opera Scholarship, the Annie McFarling Opera Scholarship and the John & Elizabeth Wright-Smith Scholarship.

His solo appearances include Mozart’s Requiem (Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Sing with the Orchestra) and Paul Mealor’s Coronation Kyrie(Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). For Brisbane’s Voxalis Opera, he has sung Masetto (Don Giovanni) as well as Giorgio Talbot and Sir Gualtiero Raleigh in the Donizetti adaptation, The Two Queens.

Jack was the 2024 recipient of the Southern Cross Soloists’ Margaret Schindler Vocal Scholarship and a prize winner in the 2023, 2025, and 2026 National Liederfests.

This September Jack will compete in the finals of both the Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Bel Canto Award and the Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship. Soon afterwards he will commence his master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig.
