An Evening with 102-Year-Old Holocaust Survivor and WWII Veteran Jack Boeki

Chabad of Nashville will host a special evening with Jack Boeki, a 102-year-old Holocaust survivor, World War II veteran, and former secret agent, on Monday, September 28. Boeki will share his extraordinary life story, followed by a book signing.

Born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 1924, Boeki was a teenager living with his parents and two sisters when Nazi Germany invaded his homeland. His world was shattered by the Holocaust, and he ultimately became the sole survivor of his immediate family.

Yet Jack’s story is not only one of unimaginable loss. It is a remarkable story of survival, courage, faith, and resilience.

During the evening, Boeki will share his astonishing personal account of ten miraculous escapes during the war and the experiences that shaped the course of his life. From surviving the Holocaust to serving during World War II and working as a secret agent, his journey offers a rare opportunity to hear living history directly from someone who experienced it.

“At 102 years old, Jack represents a generation whose voices we have a sacred responsibility to hear and preserve,” said Rabbi Yitzchok Tiechtel of Chabad of Nashville. “When we hear his story firsthand, the Holocaust is no longer simply something we read about in a history book. It becomes personal. Jack’s courage and determination remind us of the strength of the human spirit and of our responsibility to pass these stories on to the next generation.”

The program comes at a time when the message of standing against antisemitism, hatred, and intolerance remains deeply relevant. Chabad of Nashville hopes the evening will bring together people from throughout the Nashville community to listen, remember, and carry Jack’s story forward.

The evening will conclude with an opportunity to meet Jack Boeki and have his book personally signed.
