Event description

Step into a world where music transcends the ordinary and come on the ALTITUDE HONEY journey. Originally hailing from QLD and now residing in Crescent Head, JACQ HEART is proud to launch her cinematic album ALTITUDE HONEY in her favourite 100-year-old hall. A born storyteller and captivating entertainer, JACQ HEART and MOONRISE PRODUCTIONS will create a multi-sensory, immersive sound and lighting experience to get lost in.

With feet grounded and heart in the cosmos, Jacq’s music defies genres. She effortlessly draws on elements of folk, psychedelica, and ARTpop to communicate the real and raw human experience. Blending compelling instrumentation, transcendent melodies and hard hitting energy this set will have you moving from the very beginning. DOORS AND DJ - 7PM JACQ HEART - 8PM

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

After toying with the city/country dance for over a decade JACQ HEART moved to the Mid North Coast at the end of 2022 and feels so at home here. With her head in the cosmos and feet firmly planted on the earth, JACQ HEART playfully dances between the seen and unseen. Passionate about making music for the big feelers, her latest body of work showcases her innate gift for storytelling and an ability to capture the raw essence of human emotion. With a background is creative psychotherapy, conservation and event production JACQ is constantly playing in the duality of life - the quiet and the chaos.

Bringing her full band from Brisbane, the funk/disco/rnb prowess of TJ Watkin, Marc Dubois, Jaymee Watkin (Buttercats) and Michael Josephson (Josephson) will have the hall absolutely pumping with electric energy! Finn Wegner will be spinning latin, house vinyls to warm the audience up and set the mood.

ABOUT THE ALBUM:

ALTITUDE HONEY is a heroes journey of genre-bending folk, soul and psych-pop. Inspired by her life of duality: isolated in the mountains on multi-day journeys pushing the body to the extreme and life in the city as an entertainer. The EP is her first new music in 3 years JACQ combines her love of sacred spaces and medicine music dancing between melodic folk stories with hard-hitting, high energy dance tracks.

Her first single release from the upcoming album was HOLD MY HAND a fireside-lullaby-cry-for-help. Highlighting the importance of reaching out to each other amidst the chaos and finding safety and strength in kin. It’s a reminder that, no matter what, we need each other. Counteractively ALTITUDE HONEY (the single) is a hyper confident, bold, loud and defiant anthem for trusting your inner voice.

ADULT $33 // Kids (16 and under) $22

Art Show:

Jacq will be exhibiting a collection of works to accompany the release of the EP.

Transport and Parking:

The Belmore River Hall is located approximately 15 minutes out of Crescent Head and ten minutes out of Gladstone - 615 Belmore River Right Bank Road. Make sure you car pool and look out for eachother!

Musings and additional info:

  • This is an ALL AGES gig but not a "kids show". There will be loud noise, dark spaces, flashing lights and hazer. There will be some noise-reducing over-ear headphones available for hire.
  • We believe in intergenerational spaces, that being said some of the themes and concepts of the show may not be suitable for your child. We leave that decision up to you!

We pay our respects and acknowledge the Dunghutti people as the first people of this salt water Country. We honour their deep connection to land, water and sky. Always was, always will be.
