Imagine a Big Band from one of Europe’s smallest countries making its way to Australia – at the invitation of one of the nation’s most renowned jazz musicians, James Morrison. Sound extraordinary? It certainly is! The Big Band Liechtenstein, founded over 40 years ago as an ensemble of the Liechtenstein Music School, has steadily evolved into a solid musical force with tremendous potential. In the meantime, it has become Liechtenstein’s flagship jazz ensemble.

While performing in Europe, the band members met James Morrison, sparking a long-standing friendship. Together, they’ve electrified concert halls from Liechtenstein through Austria and Germany all the way to Switzerland. And it doesn’t stop there: other jazz luminaries such as Peter Herbolzheimer, Bob Mintzer, Willie Murillo, and the Australian vocalist Olivia Chindamo have also performed with the Big Band Liechtenstein.
