One Night Rant returns in 2026 with a new hour of frenetic, furious, funny stand-up aimed at politicians across the spectrum. No party or policy is safe.
🎟 Early Bird tickets are on sale now and end 10 September 2026. After that, General Admission pricing applies (unless sold out earlier).
Book early. This is the one show where the news cycle does half the research for a night of comedy, catharsis, and fist-shaking, boot-stomping fun.
Doors open 30 minutes before showtime, so come early, grab your seat, and settle in before the laughs begin.

- Is there parking available?
Street parking only is available. You cannot park directly outside the premises, but you can do so across the road.
- Is alcohol sold at the premises?
Poppys does not sell alcohol as it does not have a license to do so.
- As alcohol isn’t sold at the premises, then can I bring some?
You can bring alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks to be consumed before or after the show; however, these cannot be consumed in the club itself where the gig is held. You can enjoy them under the deck, or upstairs in the lounge, kitchen, or deck area.
- Can you eat and drink in the club where comedy is performed?
No. You are more than welcome to eat and drink before and after the show, however we ask that this is not done in cub. We do provide some food after the gig and you are welcomed to come up stairs and join the comics having something to eat.
- Can you consume alcohol while watching the show?
No. You are more than welcomed to drink before and after the show, however we ask that this is not done in club

About James Nokise
James Nokise is a Samoan–Welsh comedian, writer, columnist and broadcaster with two decades turning politics and headlines into an hour of stand-up. Twice Billy T-nominated, he's won the Fred Award for Best NZ Show (God Damn Fancy Man, 2019), Best Male Comedian at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards, and the Topp Prize (2024) — a $15,000 grant the Topp Twins award personally. As a broadcaster he's created and hosted three RNZ podcast series, including The Last Voyage of the Rainbow Warrior — Best Documentary at the 2025 NZ Radio Awards and Best International Podcast at the Asia Podcast Awards, beating entries from 40+ countries.
