After the presentation, attendees are welcome to purchase a book and/or get their book signed by the author in the Research & Information room on the 2nd floor of the library.
Pre-registration is extremely helpful for planning purposes, but is not required. Pre-registered attendees will get priority seating in the event of limited seating. Walk-ins are welcome if capacity allows.

Join Ed Simon and Jan Ellen Kurth as they explore the history of Pittsburgh through fiction and nonfiction titles.
Biography
Ed Simon is the Public Humanities Special Faculty in English at Carnegie Mellon University, and the author of over a dozen books, including "An Alternative History of Pittsburgh" and "The Soul of Pittsburgh."
Jan Ellen Kurth though born in Kansas City, Jan Ellen Kurth finds herself drawn to the rich history of northern Appalachia—especially New York State’s Southern Tier and Western Pennsylvania.
