Event description

Join acclaimed, Archibald finalist winner Jandamarra Cadd in an in depth talk about his work in his latest exhibition titled "One heart, One people, One mob" at the beautiful ambient ART POST surrounded by Jandamarra's thought provoking work.

Jandamarra, an Australian Aboriginal artist of Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Warung descent, is dedicated to bridging the gap between Aboriginal and mainstream Australia through his art. He creates visual narratives that speak about walking together, learning from each other and coming together as One people One heart One mob.

Predominantly painting in both acrylic and oil, Jandamarra moves through a variety of different styles; from Hyperrealism through to multi coloured portraits and ones created entirely of traditional style dots. His sensitive colourful work beautifully merges a contemporary portraiture style with traditional Aboriginal painting techniques.

His work reflects stories of triumph over tragedy, the innocence, the unbridled expression of the human spirit. Especially when it comes to the liberation or emancipation of the human spirit from circumstances that normally serve to oppress or drain the life from it.

Ticket includes a free complimentary drink on arrival. Please present your ticket.
