Event description
The Jane Morris Quartet is toe-tapping swing, vibrant gypsy classics, wistful Parisian ballads and re-worked jazz standards in a fun and engaging mix of acoustic music, all performed with the dazzling virtuosity and passion that is intrinsic to the fun of Gypsy Swing Jazz.
Formed in mid-2018, the Jane Morris Quartet has now established a reputation as one of Tasmania’s premier Gypsy Swing Jazz groups. Fronted by vocalist Jane Morris (also on flute) and featuring Harry Edwards (guitar), Charlie McCarthy (violin) and Isaac Gee (double bass).
The Jane Morris Quartet has also recorded an album of Hot Club style standards along with some original compositions and this album will be available to purchase at the performance.
Featuring music from composers such as Django Reinhardt, Edith Piaf, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin (to name only a few) Jane Morris Quartet presents an afternoon of fun familiar classics with an innovative twist.
