every performance at CONVOY is drawn from the lineup of sydney fusion jazz jam.
sydney's home for jazz funk fusion, and the city's most active gathering of working musicians.
through a partnership with the collective and its lead organiser, deva permana, we bring a different configuration of artists to every event.
what they play is something you don't hear much anymore. smooth jazz, classic soul, the kind of slow burning r&b that defined the 80s and 90s, music that shaped a generation and has been quietly disappearing from live venues ever since.
CONVOY exists, in part, to give it a room.
no repeated sets
no house band on rotation.
just a constantly evolving cast of some of sydney's best players, given a stage to do what they do best.
