Jazz and Matcha session concert
Description
Where Two Seasons Meet
A Tea Ceremony × Jazz Evening
As Australian spring drifts into Japanese autumn, we invite you to a one-night celebration built on the spirit of ichigo ichie — "one time, one meeting." An intimate evening of live jazz piano, a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, matcha, and conversation.
The evening unfolds in three acts:
🍵 Act 1 — Matcha Latte Reception: Arrive to a welcome matcha latte and Japanese confections in a bright, social atmosphere.
🎹 Act 2 — Tea Ceremony × Jazz session: A seated performance where a tea practitioner's otemae moves in harmony with live jazz-piano improvisation — the first half evoking spring, the second, autumn.
🍸 Act 3 — Matcha Mocktails: The room warms into a jazz-bar setting for signature non-alcoholic matcha mocktails and a chance to meet the artist.
The artist —
Jazz pianist & composer. CD debut at 10, Jazz Japan Award winner, and JASRAC's youngest-ever registered composer, with NHK and anime credits. This evening marks a rare international performance.
