Explore how to meaningfully consider and prioritise Disability Justice within our environmental work, advocacy, and activism.

In this online session, held by Eli Sutherland (they/them) & Jasper Peach (they/them), we’ll delve into the deep interconnections between accessibility, the climate crisis, and community care.  This session is an invitation to reflect on what accessibility truly feels like for each of us — and what the world could look like if we prioritised each other and our needs.

About the Speakers

Eli Sutherland (they/them) is an award-winning poet, writer, and creative consultant living on Wurundjeri Country. They are a non-binary, queer, disabled creative, the Festival Director of Trans Book Festival, and studying a Master of Arts (Writing and Literature) at Deakin University. Awarded a 2026 Varuna Residential Fellowship for their fantasy manuscript, No One Without the Other, Eli has also been a finalist, shortlisted for, or won numerous writing awards. Eli’s writing has appeared in ABC, Cordite, Mascara Review, StylusLit, Left Brain Media, Queer Out Here, and more.

Jasper Peach(they/them) is a trans, non-binary and disabled writer, speaker and parent. They are passionate about equitable access and inclusion, focused on the dismantling of misplaced shame via storytelling. With a background in Auslan interpreting, broadcasting and civil celebrancy, writing has continued their personal trend of being all about communication and community. Their first book, You’ll be a Wonderful Parent, was published March 2023 by Hardie Grant and is a celebration of rainbow families of all kinds.
