Join Jersey City Connects for a scenic 3.5 mile hike to a swimming hole in the Catskills!
THE TRAIL
The Vernooy Kill Falls Trail winds through mixed forest, rocky sections, and gentle stream crossings before delivering you to a picturesque 49‑foot waterfall with a scenic footbridge spanning its base.
This hike is perfect for beginner to intermediate hikers (600 ft in elevation).
EVENT DETAILS
9:00AM: Meet inside Le Cafe Coffee (444 Warren St)
9:20AM: Depart
11:45AM: Arrive at the hike entrance
12:00PM to 2:30PM: Hike & Swim!
3:00PM: Late lunch at Arrowood Farms
4:30PM: Head back
6:45PM: Arrive in Jersey City
TICKETS
Transportation is included in the ticket price! Your ticket price covers more than just the hike; it also covers the essential fees required to keep our organization running smoothly. Your support allows us to continue organizing fantastic outdoor adventures for everyone.
PACKING LIST
We highly recommend hiking shoes for ankle support and traction. Additionally, consider bringing:
Bug/tick spray
Trekking poles (optional)
Sunglasses + hat
Sunscreen
At least 1 to 1.5 liters of water (3 Poland Spring bottles)
Snacks (trail mix, apples, peanut butter packs)
Swimsuit (wear under clothes)
Water shoes
Change of clothes
Book
Card game (Uno, Sushi go, etc.)
Towel for lounging
SAFETY
Our experienced team includes a certified hiker, trained medic and first-aid certified individuals to accompany you throughout the hike.
