Event description

The Jewish Council of Australia is proud to invite you to join us for a screening of this highly acclaimed and impactful documentary by award-winning journalist and Jewish Council advisory board member Antony Loewenstein, directed by Dan Davies, produced by Black Leaf Films. This film, based on Loewenstein's acclaimed book The Palestine Laboratory, exposes Israel's system of testing weapons and surveillance technologies through mass murder and control of Palestinian people, which are then exported to oppress people across the globe.

We are screening part one of the two part series, which looks at how Israel promotes itself as a leader in advanced weapons and surveillance tech, with weapons companies highlight that their products have been “tested” in real battles. The film includes perspectives from Israelis and Palestinians and discusses how the arms industry interprets “tested” in Palestine, how the military intelligence Unit 8200 acts as an incubator for Israeli surveillance tech start-ups and how Israel uses AI targeting systems in Gaza.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to hear from Antony Loewenstein the highly respected and prestigious award winning journalist, author and filmmaker in a Q&A following the film.

The Palestine Laboratory book will be available to purchase.
