Uralla-based singer-songwriter Jhana Allan released her sophomore album, titled ‘Fake Paradise’ in 2024. Themes of desire, addiction, and awareness of the artist’s own need for prioritising rest, forms the backdrop of this shape-shifting release.

In 2022 Allan raised thousands of dollars from her community and fans via Kickstarter, and travelled to Nashville in January of 2023 to record in Nashville with her mentor, Americana artist, Rachel Baiman. Allan also worked with multi Grammy-winning engineer Sean Sullivan, with a band of session musicians including guitar player Cy Winstanley (Brandy Clark), drummer Jon Epcar (Bono, Rihanna, Colbie Caillat), and Baiman’s band members; drummer Lauren Horbal and bass player Steve Haan.

Drawing inspiration from musicians like The Weather Station, Sam Amidon, PJ Harvey, and Lucie Thorne, the album moves through folk, jazz, and rock soundscapes, retaining a throughline of Allan’s visceral and emotive writing and singing, and grounded by her layered vocal presence. Allan's distinctive cross-picking mandolin style, jazzy fiddle chops and mournful piano ballads provide a rich backdrop for her storytelling.

Ryan Martin John's brand of country/folk singer songwriting harkens back to a much loved era of late 60's/ early 70's Laurel Canyon singer-songwriters. Based on Kaurna land, Ryan is also an acclaimed record producer & engineer. RMJ's self recorded & produced 2023 debut record 'Goodness, Gracious, Graceless' was a visit to crunchy country folk ALA The Byrds/ Jackson Browne. The album saw national acclaim with nominations for National Folk Alliance Australia's Folk Artist of The Year as well as nominations for the Adelaide Blues and Roots Album of the year award and shortlisted for Music SA's solo Artist of the Year award. Ryan's sophomore record is shaping up to be his most intimate yet, and will be debuting many of these tunes up close and personal along with acclaimed guitarist and all around good guy, Tom Kneebone.
