Students in Years 9 - 12 can unleash their creativity this school holidays with JMC's High School Workshops.

"Recording and Mixing Session" will have students step into the world of Audio Engineering and Sound Production with this hands-on program and comprehensive introduction to the art of recording and mixing in a studio setting. 

Workshop Highlights: 

  • Introduction to Recording: Learn the fundamentals of studio recording, including the setup and use of microphones, audio interfaces, and recording software.
  • Recording Vocals: Spend the first half of the day recording vocals with our artist in the studio. Gain practical experience in capturing high-quality audio, focusing on techniques to achieve the best vocal performance.
  • Studio Etiquette: Understand the importance of studio etiquette and effective communication to ensure a smooth and productive recording session.
  • Introduction to Mixing: Dive into the basics of mixing, exploring concepts such as EQ, compression, reverb, and other effects.
  • Mixing the Recordings: In the second half of the day, learn how to mix the recordings made during the morning session. Discover how to balance levels, enhance the sound, and create a polished final product.
  • Hands-On Practice: Apply your mixing skills using professional audio software, with guidance from experienced audio engineers.
