Join singer-songwriter Jo Davie and raucous jazz-folk ensemble Cigány Weaver for a very special co-headline show at The Citadel, Murwillumbah on Friday May 16th!

Jo Davie will perform first, with intricate songs from her solo project's debut EP 'Nothing Comes Free'. Joined on stage by her band, Jo will perform with guitar, drums, bass, and exquisite three-part harmonies, bringing audiences into her delicately curated world. The EP itself exemplifies this experience - recorded by Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music), each track features Jo’s vulnerable yet powerful vocals, technical skill and poignant lyricism. Jo has won audiences and accolades across Australia and has recently taken her career to new heights, winning the 2024 Carol Lloyd Award and supporting ARIA-winning artist Katie Noonan to sold-out audiences at QPAC Concert Hall, Sydney Festival, Bleach Festival and Darwin Festival.

Then to bring home the night, Jo will again take the stage, but this time with the virtuosic ensemble, Cigány Weaver. Fusing the passion of folk music, the precision of classical, and the spontaneity of jazz, Cigány Weaver create a rich and vibrant atmosphere for both the heart and mind. Front woman, Jo Davie's soaring vocals and enchanting gentle demeanour combine with the fiery violin, dynamic guitars and driving rhythm section to create a purely acoustic group that effortlessly navigates the musical nexus between intimacy and raucousness. It's easy to see why the group have been nominated for two National Live Music Awards, and have packed out stages across Australia at Woodford Folk Festival, The National Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival and many more. They can't wait to return to The Citadel after their last show in 2021!

The Citadel is located in the beautiful hinterland of The Tweed, in Murwillumbah. We are an intimate licenced venue. 

We often sell out so best to purchase tickets online.There are seats for all, but not allocated. 

For concerts the bar is open from 6pm, and hall doors will open 30mins prior to the concert to allow you to choose your seat. 

For events where dancing is encouraged we will only have bar tables and stools in hall, all cafe tables and chairs will be in the courtyard.
