Event description

Extra special night at the Tappy with Australia's best songwriter Charles Jenkins and the fabulous Jo Meares' Silver Bullets.

Charles Jenkins is a Melbourne songwriter/musician, producer, performer and teacher with more than 30 years experience in the Australian Music Industry.

He has released 23 albums and been nominated for 2 ARIA awards with the Icecream Hands. In 2014 he won the AGE/Music Victoria award for best folk/roots album.

"...delivers the kind of set that astonishes in its depth, variety and good humour. (and) reinforces Jenkins' position as the songwriter's songwriter - Matt O'Neil Time Off Magazine

Jo Meares’ Silver Bullets launched their debut album in 2024.

Back seat Mafia review:-

"This is a magnificent album. Steeped in an antipodean dusty dryness yet leavened by bright rays of sunshine and Meares's eloquent poetry that strike like shards of lightning. Jo Meares' Silver Bullets take us on an extraordinary journey into the heart of darkness: a swampy gothic paradise laced with white frills and blood red velvet. His voice is an unguent, a salve that at the same time hypnotises and mesmerises, drags you into a beautiful stunning abyss" – Arun Kendall

The Silver Bullets feature the explosive and brilliant guitar work of Mark McCartney, the groove and passion of the phenomenal upright bass player Mark Carson, the hauntingly beautiful saw and backing vocals of Charlie Barker and wonderfully powerful Scott Bennett on drums.
