Event description

Join us at Busselton Library for a very special morning with local author Joanne Patmore as she discusses her debut novel, Black Wattle.

🗓 Thursday 25th September
10:30am
📍 Busselton Library

Born in Margaret River and with strong connections to Busselton, Joanne has spent a lifetime exploring stories through poetry, short fiction, and now her first novel. Black Wattle reimagines the past, weaving family secrets, history, and identity into a powerful tale set against the backdrop of the ill-fated Western Australian Group Settlement Scheme.

🌿 Black Wattle is a haunting, intergenerational story of lies, silence, and rediscovery—spanning Australia and England, the past and present, and the unbreakable ties of family.

Come along to hear Joanne share her journey, inspirations, and writing process in this intimate author event.

🎟 Free event, bookings essential – all welcome. Light refreshments provided.
