Born in Margaret River and with strong connections to Busselton, Joanne has spent a lifetime exploring stories through poetry, short fiction, and now her first novel. Black Wattle reimagines the past, weaving family secrets, history, and identity into a powerful tale set against the backdrop of the ill-fated Western Australian Group Settlement Scheme.
