Come join Joe Rut & The Sunshine Shovelers as they shoot a live video! You can even bring your own phone or camera and help shoot it if you want! Then we will whitewash the fence.

Winners of the 2024 East Bay Express Best Local Band award, Oakland-based Joe Rut & The Sunshine Shovelers serve up a hearty chili-con-carne of country-roots-rock. 

Bay Area veteran songwriter Joe Rut (Loretta Lynch, The Spikedrivers) sings about relationships (with people, animals, and bottles of whiskey), weed smuggling, and almost finding Jesus through eating a bad tunafish sandwich. Drummer Time Rowe (Crying Time) and bassist Russ Kiel (Crying Time) keep the downhill careening truck between the lines while Rut and Telecaster master Jamie Duncan (Dogweed String Band, Aaron Burnham & The Brushfires) keep things twangy enough to keep college radio fame at bay. Need someone to ride shotgun while you drive across country after a bad breakup? Joe Rut & The Sunshine Shovelers might just be your band.

Tickets are $20 general admission. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.

Doors open 30 minutes before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
