CANCELLED: Join Gippsland Pride at Midsumma PRIDE MARCH 2024

On behalf of the Gippsland Pride Initiative, we'd be delighted if you joined us at the Melbourne Pride March as part of the Gippsland Pride 2024 group on Sunday 4th February 2024. 

We appreciate this is short notice, and we will need your confirmation as soon as possible, so we're going to make registering as easy as possible.

1. Registration: This is a secure event, so we ask all ADULTS to please individually complete this form (Registration is required for entry) - children can be counted in the questions below. 

2. We are providing transport - a full 57 seater Bus from Bairnsdale, Sale, Traralgon, Morwell, Moe, Trafalgar, Warragul, Drouin, Officer > direct to Melbourne to muster with our group ready to March! If you'd like to join the bus, we do need you to register for it separately - details on our website and Facebook page. These measures are in place to ensure our participants are accommodated securely and comfortably. And Yes, GPI Members will be given first preference.

3. Disability Access and Support Vehicle for the March - If walking the March route would be difficult or not possible for you, we are looking to provide a van as part of our marching group, to enable folks who might otherwise miss out. Please select - 'I would like to join the van in the Marching group' and we'll be in touch to support your participation.

4. Gippsland Pride will be part of: Wave F, queer community groups. You can use this information to find us on the oval.



Our theme for 2024 is "COUNTRY QUEERS MATTER". 

To help shine the light on regional LGBTQIA+ Folks and amplify the need to better heard, seen and supported by metropolitan LGBTQIA+ organisations, we are leaning into the Country stereotype for Pride March. We're talking cowboy boots, Akubra hats, flanny shirts, hay bales - and GLAM - Glittered, bedazzled, whatever we can do to to sparkle. Let your creative juices flow.

Please note: 
Children in attendance are the sole responsibility of their parents and guardians, and we ask that this is considered, as any unnecessarily or unmanaged risk taking behaviour may result in your departure from the event.

CONSENT AND CONDUCT:
Respect each other and yourself- Poor behaviour will not be tolerated- if you are taking footage or photos, you MUST gain consent prior to and again after, before posting to social media or sharing.

Please note we have welcomed members of emergency services to join us, including those in uniform.

We know it is a very early morning from Gippsland and appreciate this will not be possible for everyone. You may elect to meet us at the March location in Melbourne if preferred. It is often very warm, so if walking or being in the heat may be detrimental to your health, please let us know. Please bring a hat and responsible shoes.
