Join us in celebrating GiveOUT Day @ Inner West Pride Centre

GiveOUT invites you to celebrate GiveOUT Day on Thursday 17 October with us at the new Inner West Pride Centre, with our wonderful host Mon Schafter! This event will bring together LGBTQIA+ communities, donors and supporters for a jam-packed hour of delicious (free!) lunch, a fire-side chat, fabulous LGBTQIA+ trivia, entertainment from Daddy Annie and a reading of our poetry/song competition winner. Attendees will also have the chance to win a $500 cash prize towards their chosen organisation! 

🏳️‍🌈 What is GiveOUT Day? 

GiveOUT Day is Australia’s annual day of giving to LGBTQIA+ not-for-profits and initiatives, designed to address the shortfall in funding to our beloved and much needed community sector. GiveOUT Day is a blend of both crowdfunding and peer-to-peer fundraising, where donations made by the public are doubled by our philanthropic partners. In addition to increasing funding to LGBTQIA+ organisations, GiveOUT Day is also about celebrating and raising awareness of the incredible work of the LGBTQIA+ community sector.

You! This includes staff and supporters of LGBTQIA+ community organisations, fundraising champions, GiveOUT Day donors, funders and anyone interested in learning more about GiveOUT Day and the incredible work of our LGBTQIA+ community sector.

👌 About our speakers 

Mon Schafter (they/them) is a Walkley Award-winning journalist and co-host of ABC TV’s Mardi Gras coverage. Mon has told countless stories for ABC TV’s 7.30 and Hungry Beast, and hosts the ABC podcast Innies + Outies, featuring uniquely Australian stories about coming out or staying in. Mon is the Content Lead of ABCQueer and co-chair of LGBTQIA+ youth support service Twenty10. 

Jeremy Tang (he/him) is a founding team member at Humanitix, playing an instrumental role scaling the organisation to over 3mil global users. Jeremy is one of our generous donors towards the GiveOUT Day matched funding pool that enables public donations to be matched! 

Jain Moralee (she/her) is the CEO of Twenty10, supporting young LGBTQIA+ people across Sydney and NSW, their families and communities

Daddy Annie is a queer, burlesque, drag, hilarious performer from Sydney. Annie Wylie (she/her) is a passionate and talented content and storytelling legend, and currently heads up the content and youth involvement team at digital youth mental health org ReachOut.
