Event description

As part of our work on building the evidence base around educational disadvantage, VCOSS is examining the prevalence and impact of food stress on children and young people’s learning and wellbeing at kinder, school, TAFE and uni. Using the prism of education, this work will shine a light on positive measures to tackle food stress for children, young people and their families/carers and explore new ideas. These insights will be shared with the Victorian Government and more broadly with the Victorian Parliament’s Legal and Social Issues Committee, which is currently conducting an inquiry to investigate the impacts and causes of food insecurity in Victoria.

We know this is an issue that our members care deeply about and that many of you are working hard to address.

To inform our submission, we will be running an online VCOSS member consultation and we’d love to hear your insights and ideas:

When: Monday, June 24 2024

Time: 10.30-12.00pm

If you have any questions about the consultation or our submission, please don’t hesitate to contact Joanna Hatcher (Policy Advisor) joanna.hatcher@vcoss.org.au
