Art Guide Bookstore is pleased to present our very first music performance with Jon Campbell Band and special guest Diego Ramirez, live in the bookstore. Both Jon and Diego are well known Melbourne visual artists.
Jon Campbell has been exhibiting paintings and performing since the mid 1980s. At the core of Jon's musical output is a DIY attitude that celebrates the joy of collaborating with friends.
The Jon Campbell Band will be playing songs old and new, amongst the backdrop of the bookstore in celebration of art, music, and community. There will be amps on the bookshelves, books on the amps, brushes on the drums, setlist on the floor, songs that will take you places,.
Artist and writer Diego Ramirez will be performing his very first gig, opening the afternoon with a set of songs collectively called Kee Performance Vindicators, which explore administrative themes surrounding the workplace in non-for-profits.
The bookstore will come alive with music and performance! We ‘re inviting people to enjoy some tunes, share a drink and browse our bespoke selection of Australian art books.
- There will be the opportunity to chat to the artists following the performance.
- A number of Jon Campbell’s publications will be available for purchase on the day including:
Setlists (artists book 2009)
