Intelligent, nostalgic and accessible free verse poems on themes including innocence, childhood, family, mature love, faith, place (Michigan and Lake Michigan) aging and acceptance. About the Author:

Joseph Neely grew up in Ann Arbor and graduated from Huron High School. Neely returned to writing poetry during the pandemic following several decades during which he wrote only a handful of poems. In 2020 Joe and his brother, Tom, completed a four-year quest to canoe the length of Michigan's Grand River - 252 miles from south of Jackson to where the river empties into Lake Michigan at Grand Haven. The brothers wrote about their efforts at lengthofthegrand.com. Joe Neely got sober in 2012; these poems could not otherwise have been written. He and his wife, Linda, live near Dexter with a small white dog named Lincoln.
