A psychospiritual retreat experience for women interested in exploring the stories of ancient Goddesses of the Underworld and journey with them to those places within ourselves that are waiting to be known. This is a journey of the Heart - a descent into compassion with the Chthonic Goddesses who understand both our shame and pain alongside our desire for healing and wholeness - Hine-nui-te-pō and Papatūānuku, Ereshkigal and Inanna, Persephone and Demeter.

The story of the ancient Sumerian Queen of Heaven and Earth Inanna, journeying to the Underworld is a story of life, death and rebirth.  Inanna experiences a deep calling and courageously chooses to enter the world of shadows to meet with her sister Ereshkigal,  her shadow self and Queen of the Underworld.  It is in this place, of full surrender, that Inanna experiences a great death and transformation, and Ereshkigal experiences a deep compassion and healing that allows for the rebirth of Inanna so she can rise, powerful, strong and whole - an integrated version of her Self.  

These stories of death and rebirth are repeated across civilisations, time and cultures and provide deep wisdom for us to connect with and grow from.

This weekend will be a container, where you will experience the love and compassion of the Great Mother, held in her loving womb as you connect with those parts of yourself that are hidden away but desperately calling for your embrace.  We will visit the Underworld, the shadow world, the subconscious through  myth, purukau, storytelling, yin yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation. We will celebrate this journey of the heart and self discovery with cacao and ecstatic dance.

This retreat is for you if you are feeling the call of the Underworld, if your heart and soul are longing for nourishment, and you are prepared and supported to undertake deep transformative work.

This is a 3 day retreat from 4.30pm Friday 2 August to 12.30pm Sunday 4 August in the beautiful Paradise Valley lodge surrounded by trees and river (and hot tub!).  Fees include shared accommodation and catering. A discounted rate is available for those registering alongside another person - a friend or sister perhaps to walk through this journey together.
