Event description

Are you interested in using your capital as a force for good?

Journey to Impact is designed to educate and empower you to explore the alignment of wealth with values, and to inspire others to do the same through your leadership.

In 2020, there was over US$45 trillion globally invested in socially responsible investments (JP Morgan ESG research data), and US$716 billion invested in impact (Global Impact Investment Network annual report). In Australia alone, the total value of impact investment products has risen 249% between 2017 and 2019 to $19.9 billion. More and more people are going ‘all in’, and committing their resources to creating a new, purpose-driven economy where the triple bottom line of people, planet and profit can be achieved and thrive.

This six part virtual course hosted by Small Giants Academy will support you in thinking about how to transition your resources to impact, and provide you with a network of like-minded peers to explore how to use private capital to manifest and implement personal and family values – for current and future generations.

Journey to Impact will give you practical skills in investment and portfolio creation, foundational underpinnings around your purpose, and a multigenerational approach to wealth as an energy source toward great impact. Guided by co-founder of Small Giants Danny Almagor in an intimate group, we will explore:

  • The Good Society, Money & Meaning, The Good Life
  • Creating a Wealth Mission Statement
  • Spectrum of Impact: Impact Landscape from Philanthropy to Impact Investing
  • Strategic Portfolio Design, Asset Classes, Sectors and Impact
  • Manager & Asset Search, Due Diligence and Selection
  • Tactical Portfolio Allocation
  • Measurement
  • Storytelling, Barriers, Family & Legacy
  • Getting Started: Creating a Plan and Next Steps

Testimonials from past participants

"Exquisitely moderating forums, imparting so much invaluable material on Impact Investing, incredible generosity and insight".

"I can now see the power in conversations around the purpose of capital, impact visions and the 'why' of investing".

"It has formed the basis and the foundation for our whole approach to impact investment and allowed us to start having deeper and broader family discussions that have been neglected and avoided for some time. In short it has given our family the shot in the arm it has sorely needed. JTI has beent he spark that was needed to light the fire underneath us all - long overdue."

"A big thank you for the epic weeks that were JTI. I was also blown away by how incredible the facilitation and course material was. I think you reached new levels of excellence for this work & it was a pleasure to witness - seamlessly facilitated, open & inviting, informative & practical, fun, inspiring, all of the things. I reckon I could convince the greatest of cynics to do it!"
