Journey to the Diamond Planet
Event description
Greetings Dear Humans!
The year is 2986 AD. The exponential development of AI has now vastly exceeded human intelligence, and has completely transformed life on Earth. No longer bound by physical limitations, humans can now travel to distant parts of the universe instantly by will alone.
PSR J1719-1438b is an extrasolar planet 4000 light years from Earth in the Serpens constellation. It maintains a tight orbit around its host pulsar, PSR J1719-1438, a small dense object of 1.5 solar masses that compresses down to the size of a city district. Rotating at over 10,000 revolutions per second, this pulsar is one of the fastest spinning objects known in the universe!
Because of the intense proximity, speed and mass of the pulsar, conditions on the attached planet are extreme. A combination of high gravity, density and temperature has resulted in the carbon-based planet being entirely crystallised into pure diamond. Join our brave DJs as we journey into the future to experience the majesty of the Diamond Planet!

About Us:
RPG Events are a small production crew that organise boutique "concept" events in the Canberra region. With each event limited to a maximum of 100-150 participants, the idea is to stay raw, invisible and underground through the construction of a private community of individuals with similar interests. Our events aim to enrich lives through art, culture, socialising, personal development and nature. These include projects ranging from bbqs, to doofs, hikes, birthday parties, dinners, online events, interstate trips and similar.
We are excited to announce our next event: Journey to the Diamond Planet. This will be a small one night doof located within one hour drive of Canberra and it is set to be run on Saturday 19th August (weather permitting). Journey to the Diamond Planet will be a step up for us as this time we are teaming up with Lovelution Entertainment to increase the size of our production. We are also booking a stronger and bigger lineup this time around.

Weather:
This event will be held in the middle of August in the Canberra winter. It is one of the coldest and wettest periods of the year locally so come prepared for tough conditions. You will need to be kitted out to survive temperatures that may drop as low as -5 degrees.
Please bring:
- Warm clothes (jumpers, jackets, thermals, warm socks, beanies, scarves, balaclavas, gloves).
- Shoes. You may wish to bring a change of shoes and socks as the grass can get wet and dewy at night and you may get wet feet.
- Blankets, doonas, pillows, sleeping bags, air mattresses, tents and other items to help you stay warm and get some rest.
- Food and drinks. Whilst we will provide a kitchen setup for dinner and a water station, you may wish to bring along additional water, drinks and snacks. Please limit the use of glass and report any breakages to event staff. Bring a water bottle with you so that you can refill it as needed.
- Rubbish bags for your rubbish. We will provide rubbish bags and bins onsite however we ask that you please assist us with this task and take all rubbish home with you.
- Your ID. Your ID will need to match the name on your ticket or entry may be refused.
- Your Ticket. You will need to print out the ticket on paper or save it to your phone to gain entry. Make sure you can access the ticket on your phone or email app even if there is no reception.
- Please bring a torch or head torch, and batteries, so that you have some light to navigate your way around the site.
- Please bring fabulous costumes and attire worthy of futuristic psychonauts traveling to the Diamond Planet!
Please do not bring:
- Dogs, cats or other pets. Not only are pets not allowed onsite but there is lots of loud noise and unfamiliar people. Please leave woofa at home for the night.
- Your own campfire. Campfires are only permitted in the allocated areas and will be run by the crew.
- Please do not bring your own soundsystem or PA. Keep the car stereo noise down as you drive out to the site so as to not disturb the locals or the wildlife.
- Please do not bring your own generator or power tools such as chainsaws. These items are not necessary and they disturb the peace.
Safe Driving and Camping:
Camping is not officially allowed at this site.
However, it is also important to get some rest on a long night like this, and to not drive home intoxicated or excessively tired. So please make some plans for how you will rest, recover and travel home. Perhaps you can carpool and have a designated driver. Perhaps you can sleep for a few hours in the car or setup a tarp or bivvy and create a comfy sleep space with your sleeping bags and doonas.
The site has plenty of flat ground and nice grassed area away from the stage where you can pitch a tent. So if you need to camp, then do so. We would rather that you be safe. Please keep your camp minimal and leave no trace.
We request that all patrons packup their campsites promptly by 10am Sunday morning as the site is a public use area and members of the public may start to arrive around that time.
Facilities:
There are toilets available on site. They will be kitted out by our team and will be clean with sufficient toilet paper. Please use the hand sanitiser provided.
There is limited mobile reception onsite. You may be able to get a text out but calls may be patchy. Please do not invite people to the event who have not pre-purchased a ticket.
There are no showers or ATMs onsite. You may wish to bring some cash for incidental expenses and to purchase a meal from our kitchen. A basic dinner will cost $10.
We will have some friendly and informal security at this event and we will also have a first aid officer on duty in case of any incidents. Please behave respectfully and take care of yourself and others.
Acknowledgement:
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
We pay our respects to the Ngunnawal people, on whose land we hold this event, and to all Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that they have never ceded sovereignty, and remain strong in their enduring connection to land and culture.
