Make It Yourself is Pianodrome's brand new festival — a five day celebration of DIY culture, creativity and local community, running during October half term from 14th–18th October 2026 at Pianodrome Bruntsfield Community Hub.

Supported by the Edinburgh Council Local Events Fund, this hyper-local festival brings together makers, musicians, artists and community organisations for five days of workshops, live music, art exhibitions and open mic performances, all rooted in our core ethos of upcycling, innovation and working together.

About the Artists:

Joy & Struggle are Edinburgh's premier doom-folk band. Playing haunting interpretations of traditional songs, they combine violin, vocals and electric guitar to mesmerising effect. For fans of Lankum, Dead Can Dance, Lisa O'Neill, and John Francis Flynn.

Morven McArdle is a classically trained pianist and songwriter making alternative folk music that sits between playfulness and intensity. Her songs pair rhythm-focused intertwining instrumental lines with lyrics that tend toward the dark and overthought. Influenced by Joni Mitchell, Nina Simone, Stereolab, and Fiona Apple, her music drifts through folk, art pop, and contemporary jazz, rarely settling and generally meaning to.

Pianodrome Bruntsfield is at The St.Oswald's Center at 41 Montpelier Park, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh EH10 4NB, just parallel to the main street and next to the primary school. It has an accessible entrance and an accessible toilet. Please get in touch if there is anything else you'd like to ask or tell us prior to your visit.

The Pianodrome is based in a 130 year old ex church building, and currently the space is unheated, so please remember to wrap up warm.

Concessions

We do not check your right to a concession or name your price ticket. If you feel you can afford the full price please select this ticket. However, concessions prices are there to help anybody attend the show - if you need a lower cost ticket you are in the best position to determine that. No questions asked.

Accessibility:

There is ramped access to the main hall of the Pianodrome. We have an accessible toilet and space for wheelchairs. Most of our performances are relaxed performances. If you have any access requirements please feel free to email us at boxoffice@pianodrome.org.

You do not need a ticket for babies, but if your child is likely to take space in a seat then please book them a ticket.

Non-human visitors
