GYPSYLOU (duo)

Gypsylou are the singer/songwriters Carrie Lee and Katie McMahon (Guitars-Vocals). Together, they present what has been molded into their own, signature style of uplifting melodic folk, heart-felt ballads and upbeat new-folk anthems in tight, two part harmony.

Initially purely a duo formed in 2016 by after first meeting in the “Alto” section of the local choir, indulging their love of vocal harmony, they expanded the band to a five-piece increasing what had been immediate popularity and resulting in the release of a 6 track EP of original songs in 2018, “Girl in Blue”. Not resting on their laurels, the EP was followed, three years after conception (2019), by the self-titled “Gypsylou and the Kingfishers”, a collection of original songs which included all 5 of the band members.

Katie & Carrie continue to perform around Perth in duo form at intimate local venues.
