Bring your lawn chairs! Join us in welcoming J Streitz and the Long Odds, Katey Bellville & Sons, The Beavers and SonofMel! This is a rain-or-shine event.

This is a PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN event. The suggested donation is $20 per ticket, but if you’re in a position to contribute more, we would surely be grateful! If you’re low on cash at the moment, no worries, every little bit helps! Just come out and enjoy the music! Please note: The amount you enter is for each ticket, not the total. All ticket sales are final except when an outdoor show gets rained out and moved inside. In that case, refunds are available to those who did not purchase one of the first 55 tickets. The first 55 people to reserve tickets will be guaranteed a spot inside the folk house if it rains. All others can receive a refund of their donation if they so desire.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

J Streitz and the Long Odds

While playing bass for several Minneapolis bands over two decades, Jason Streitz wrote country, bluegrass, and folk songs in his spare time. These songs laid the groundwork for the formation of The Long Odds. In October 2016, they recorded their debut album, "Level Ground," at Pachyderm Studios, which was released in winter 2018, with a guest appearance by renowned fiddle player Allie Kral.

In August 2019, Jason and his family relocated to the Wisconsin north woods, where they operate a pottery business and music venue out of a historic schoolhouse. Performing now as J Streitz and the Long Odds, they released their second album, "Light Again," recorded at Zoo School Studio and launched in August 2024.

The band has shared the stage with a variety of acts, including Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, Nathan Kalish, and Invisible Boy at notable Midwest venues like The Parkway Theater and Turf Club. Jason has opened as a solo act for David Huckfelt, Turn Turn Turn and Annie Humphrey.

With a nostalgic appreciation for old time tunes, Katey Bellville inevitably pines for traditional sounds while composing contemporary songs. Raised both in the rolling hills of the country on horseback and deep in the heart of the city of Minneapolis - she has always stirred a brew of reverse passions. Dedicated listeners describe her original songs as ‘unforgettable’, blending modern pop sensibilities with fundamental bluegrass instrumentation. 

Katey Bellville has shared the stage with Alison Krauss at the Ryman Auditorium, yodeled atop Haleakala in Maui at 10,000 feet, performed on live international radio, toured Hutterite colonies through Montana, and the list goes on. Returning to the festival scene after a baby (2) raising hiatus, she sings because 'she needs to'. Like water, like air... music. 

Bellville has been honored to play with an incredible group (aka Those Sonsabitches) since 2009. Her band of SOB’s includes Zach Gusa (guitar/vocals), Mike Hedding (banjo/mandolin), Chris O’Brien (slide guitar/vocals), Eric Struve (bass), Eric Larson (mandolin/vocals), and on special occasion Ryan Young (fiddle). This band bellows beautiful 3 part vocal harmonies surrounded by acoustic instrument artistry. SOB’s celebrates the old with the new. Each member shares both originals songs and a passion to perform the old time classics.

The Beavers

The Beavers are a folk-grassy group of musical friends. Together, they play a mix of originals and covers ranging from old-timey to '70s and '80s hidden treasures, and maybe a couple more they picked up on the town.

SonofMel

Sometimes it takes traveling far from home to find out where one comes from. From Baku to Berkeley, Anchorage to Ankara, Sonofmel brings the foreign home to the familiar, piling prodigal wanderings and fistfuls of chords into spoken word, stories, and song.

ABOUT THE VENUE

Nestled in the north woods of Wisconsin, Brickyard Pottery & Folk House is a unique space that combines a pottery studio, an art gallery featuring over thirty local artists, a live music venue, and a home, all housed in a charming former two-room schoolhouse built in 1921. While most of our concerts will be held outside with room for 150 music lovers, occasionally we will be indoors in the folk house, which makes for the perfect space to consume live music. With a focus on original music performed by seasoned musicians, this intimate listening room has a capacity of just fifty-five seats, allowing for a close and personal experience for music lovers.

BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIRS!

- Food will be available with a suggested donation beginning at 4:30 pm. Beer and N/A beverages will be available separately for purchase.

- Please use the porta-potty rather than the indoor public bathroom. Our old plumbing system thanks you!

- Showtime is at 5:00 PM - Tickets are pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $20 and can be purchased online at brickyardpottery.com/events, in-person at Brickyard Pottery & Folk House in Shell Lake WI or via WILL CALL at 715-468-7341.

Camping tickets can be purchased at the same time you purchase the concert tickets and are available for a suggested donation of $15 per vehicle, with access to a public porta-potty OR our public indoor bathroom (please note: no showers available). While we are not a full campground, our two acres of land accommodate both RVs and tent camping. It is a large yard next to a cornfield (not actual campsites).  Be aware that you may have close camping neighbors and will likely share a campfire, providing a great opportunity to meet other music fans and have some fun!
