The 12th Annual JTVA Vocal Competition weekend is comprised of four separate events, each of which is open to the public. Two tiers of singers will participate in master classes on Saturday, July 19, followed by a welcome reception open to all attendees. On Sunday, July 20, these two tiers will compete for over $40,000 in prize money in the competition finals. All events will be held at the Valley Center for the Performing Arts, on the former campus of Holy Names University, 3500 Mountain Blvd. in Oakland CA. Parking is free. TIER II MASTER CLASS - SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2025 at 3:30 P.M.
Carrie-Ann Matheson, Artistic Director of the San Franciso Opera Center and Merola Opera Program, will conduct a master class for the 5 Tier II competition finalists. Tier II is for promising singers seeking support for further study and career advancement.

James Toland Vocal Arts is a San Francisco Bay Area-based nonprofit established to encourage and cultivate, through competition and education, the emerging talents of singers who aspire to a professional career in vocal performance.
