Focus – HDR supervisors are constantly juggling their supervisory responsibilities with the other demands of their academic or professional roles, and their personal lives and responsibilities. In this workshop, Dr Shari Walsh will discuss how supervisors can maintain their wellbeing whilst juggling their responsibilities, strategies for managing workload demands, and tips for supervising well in the face of these realities.

Lead – Dr Shari Walsh is an experienced psychologist and career development practitioner with extensive experience working with HDR candidates, supervisors and academics. Shari focuses on assisting researchers to build and maintain positive psychological well-being, effective communication and relationship skills, and career confidence during their research roles and beyond. Feedback from Shari's workshops and webinars indicates that attendees highly value her warm and engaging style, understanding and insight into issues impacting researchers, her practical approach, and the skills and strategies she offers to facilitate optimal functioning.
