Three decades on, Julien is one of our leading jazz musicians and educators - “the most potent tenor to be heard in Australia these days… stupendous power, his sound so massive it seemed to threaten the structural integrity of the saxophone’s bell” (The Age) He has toured extensively with many of Australia’s most well respected musicians and released over 20 albums by his own groups and cooperative projects, many of them on his own label, Lionsharecords.
