Sydney Climate Crew x Atlas Outdoor Club July Hike

Sydney Climate Crew (SCC) has teamed up with Atlas Outdoor Club for another outdoor meet-up!

SCC members put in their votes and we'll be heading the Manly area for this one.

  • Sunday 28th July @ 10am.
  • Max of 30 people (so as to respect Country and others in the trail).
  • Optional after-hike lunch - BYO lunch or pre-order Good Ways Deli sandwich lunch (select lunch option at checkout).

What is Sydney Climate Crew (SCC)?

SCC is a new free community that has quickly grown past 300+ members since its inception in November 2023. The Climate Crew facilitates in-person events and engaging conversations between people who're passionate about climate action.

What is Atlas Outdoor Club?

Atlas Outdoor Club is on a mission to connect city-shapers and impact-driven individuals with the great outdoors, bringing them close to nature while advancing their project and initiatives.

About this hike

Expect to see lots of birds and an extensive, tranquil bushland valley containing Sydney’s largest freshwater lake, created by the damming of Curl Curl creek in 1892. 

Key Details

  • Location: Traditional land of the Garigal People (Guringai Country) - Manly Vale NSW
  • Walk: 7.4km Loop Walk (approx. 1 hr 40 mins long)
  • Difficulty: Grade 3 (moderate) - we’ll walk at a "no-one left behind" pace
  • Starting Point: Manly-Warringah War Memorial Park @ 10am (Google Maps)
Getting there
  • Drive - https://maps.app.goo.gl/SUcgz5...(pay and display parking fees apply at Manly Dam, Northern Beaches permit holders exempted).
  • Car pool - SCC will arrange car pooling options the week before the hike.
  • Public transport - 135 or 142 bus from Manly Wharf.
What to bring:
  • ⁠Comfortable walking shoes, hiking boots, sneakers.
  • ⁠Water bottle.
  • Sunscreen.
  • (Optional) BYO lunch or Good Ways Deli sandwich vegetarian lunch (select lunch option at checkout).

•⁠ ⁠Nearest public toilet @ Manly Creek Public Toilets (next to hike starting point).
•⁠ ⁠Limited spots available to respect other people and Country.
