    Event description

Live into the Work of Anti-Racism

This isn’t your typical summer skool!  This is an immersive somatic personal development  experience designed to inform, inspire, support and guide you to live into the work of justice.

Summer Skool is a two month virtual learning experience designed to equip co-conspirators with actionable strategies to overcome the challenges faced living in  the work of anti-racism and anti-oppression.

Presented by Check Your Privilege & Myisha T Hill

Check Your Privilege (CYP) is a counter culture educational platform founded by writer and activist Myisha T Hill where people come together to heal, learn, and do better. Our Co-Conspirators lounge is a place where people gather to grow, heal, and fail forward together

    When is it happening?

    • 7/7/24 Abelism and You   "Ableism and You" is an introspective and transformative group , designed for individuals committed to understanding and dismantling ableism within themselves and the broader society. This course provides a safe and supportive space to explore how ableism—discrimination and social prejudice against people with disabilities—manifests in our thoughts, behaviors, and systems.
    • 7/14/24  Heal Your Way Forward - Rescripting Your Life- w/ Yulindra Renee-  This empowering workshop is designed to help you rewrite the narrative of your personal story, fostering healing and growth.
    • 7/21/2024 Scary Honesty: Facing Conflict Honestly   w/ Team CYP.  This space is dedicated to exploring the power of truthful communication, even when it's uncomfortable. Together, we will navigate the challenges of conflict with courage and integrity, learning how to confront difficult truths with compassion and respect. This practice group is for those ready to deepen their self-awareness, build stronger relationships, and transform conflicts into opportunities for growth and connection.
    • 7/28/24 Recovering from Whiteness- This a transformative journey led by myisha t hill  aimed at individuals committed to understanding and dismantling the deeply ingrained structures of white supremacy within themselves and society. This group provides a compassionate yet firm space to explore the impact of whiteness on mental health, relationships, and community well-being.

Green Bottle Sliding Scale: Our public facing workshops start at $44.00, members of our community receive a community discount for all public facing events. The Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method, developed by Alexis J. Cunningfolk is a fee structure designed to accommodate people  with different financial means. It is a flexible payment range instead of fixed price for services.

The Green Bottle Analogy: Think of it this way: Imagine a green bottle filled with liquid representing different payment options. You are invited to make a payment  that corresponds to you  financial ability, no questions asked. This approach eliminates the discomfort of discussing finances and provides a safe space for clients to be honest about their capacity. If you cannot pay please email suppot@checkyourprivilege.co

The Power of Transparency: One of the most important aspects of this model is transparency. We believe that people deserve access no matter their ability to pay, while also honoring the time and money it took for all of us to invest in our education, therapy, somatic body work and learning and learning. We know that we cannot remove all barriers to care, but this is one that we can certainly try to remove or at the very least make as flexible as possible.

Building  a Community of Trust: By embracing the Green Bottle Sliding Scale Method, we are fostering a community of trust, understanding, and empathy. This method also encourages us to be proactive in advocating for ALL of our needs, which can be incredibly empowering.
