Jumar Masterclass: Funding the Journey: $2M–20M for Early-Stage Biotech
Description
Seed-stage founders in this room sit in the hardest part of the biotech funding gap.
They have early data but are not yet “de-risked” by institutional VC standards. The gap between a $2.5M seed round and an $11M Series A is not just financial, it’s a shift in what investors expect, how capital is structured, and what data is required to progress. Globally, 66% of Australian startup deals now include at least one international investor, meaning local founders need to understand both landscapes.
This masterclass is designed to give founders the frameworks, the vocabulary, and the candid perspectives they need to move from early data to a credible raise.
Key topics include:
What investors expect at $2M vs $20M
What constitutes "investable data"
Seed vs Series A — what actually changes
The capital landscape: VC, pharma CVC, non-dilutive, RDTI
AI and quantum as emerging investor expectations
and more
